So there we were way up in Ferndale, crossing off a bucket-list item (staying at The Gingerbread Mansion). I had looked up happenings that weekend and, lo and behold, the Ferndale Repertory Theatre was putting on one of my favorite musicals, The Rocky Horror Picture Show! So after foraging for dinner (two of Ferndale's four dinner places were closed and the other two required reservations), we headed to the theatre.
Seated in front of us was a couple we had seen also foraging, and during intermission we struck up a conversation with them about how we were enjoying the show. It turns out that the man, Dangerous Bob, had done a lot of work in our home county of Santa Cruz, and we in fact knew some of the same people. The world just keeps getting smaller! We enjoyed the rest of the performance and, not yet having run out of conversation, the four of us decided to have a nightcap while Bob regaled us with some of his adventures in filmdom and we learned about Humboldt County life. Thanks, Bob and Nancy, for a fun evening!
